Additional information on "A Bluestocking Guide: Economics" by Jane A. Williams 4th edition, published in 2010. A Bluestocking Guide: Economics includes: Chapter-by-chapter comprehension questions and answers for the book Whatever Happened to Penny Candy? as well as: suggested activities, application exercises, articles that expand on the concepts presented in Whatever Happened to Penny Candy?, a list of recommended movies and documentaries that contain good economic history, a list of web sites with good economic content, and a final exam. Also includes an economic timetable that can be used to fill in the economic history that is usually missing from history books, historical fiction, historical movies, documentaries, etc. This study guide is designed for multi-age level use for ages 13 through 18.
Bluestocking Guide: Economics is a sort of workbook/test book/extra study guide to go along with Whatever Happened to Penny Candy. It includes extra articles to further study and understanding of each chapter in the "primer" (which is Whatever Happened to Penny Candy), as well as discussion questions and tests. The tests include everything from short answers and definitions to multiple choice and essay questions. Further reading lists, charts and diagrams are included, too.
You could read the primer without using this book, but it really helps round out the course.
A Bluestocking Guide: Economics is a consumable student study guide and is not reproducible. This guide is compatible with the current (sixth) edition of Whatever Happened to Penny Candy? (the second book in Richard Maybury's Uncle Eric series). |
We carry the entire line of Uncle Eric books and they have repeatedly been best sellers. Capitalism for Kids has also sold very well. Thank you for writing the study guides. I used the Uncle Eric books with your study guides as a year of Math for my my girls. They loved it and so did I! We all learned a great deal.
One of the things I have seen in here in the store is that parents are buying these books not just for their students, but also for themselves. For many, it is their first introduction to economics and for most, it is their first encounter with the truth about economics.
Thanks again and keep up the great work!
